The Training Information Centre are providers of the National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders (NCPLH course) Level 2
This is the qualification needed to apply for a Personal Licence to sell alcohol and advance your career prospects within the licensed retail sector in England and Wales.
Learners gain the qualification by attending a one day NCPLH Training course.
NCPLH Course Overview
The training course will provide each delegate with a clear understanding of the framework of law and regulation that underpins the responsibilities of the personal licence holder. This will include:
- Licensing authorities
- Personal and Premises licences
- Operating schedules
- Permitted temporary activities
- Unauthorised licensable activities
- Police powers and rights of entry
- Legal and social responsibilities of the personal licence holder
- Illegal drugs, the effects of alcohol and disorderly conduct
- Protection of children
Who should take this qualification?
Managers and supervisors or staff seeking promotion to one of these positions. Anyone working in a job role that requires them to authorise retail sales of alcohol in England and Wales: managers, assistant managers, bar staff.
Assessment: Multiple choice question examination
Duration: 1 day.

Did you know that once you’ve completed your NCPLH training and got your qualification you’ve still got to apply to your local council for your personal licence? This process also involves applying to Disclosure Scotland for a CRB check. Training Information Centre will support all learners with a free advice line. We can either make the application for you and take all the hassle out of applying for your personal licence or support you when you apply for yourself making sure you have the correct forms, filled out properly and everything done in the correct order so the process runs smoothly.
